VILLAGE OF WOODMERE

POLICE CHIEF

 

The Village of Woodmere is searching for a Police Chief. The Police Chief performs a variety of complex administrative, supervisory, and professional duties involving planning, coordinating and directing the activities of the Woodmere Police Department. In addition, the Police Chief protects the public and property in Woodmere along with ensuring that laws and ordinances are enforced and that the public peace and safety are maintained. The Police Chief reports to the Mayor and City Council.

 

Requirements for this position include a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in police science, law enforcement, criminal justice, public administration or a closely related field along with graduating from Ohio’s Police Training Academy. Years of law enforcement may be substituted for the educational requirements listed above. Also, the successful candidate must have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in police work, of which three (3) years must have been equivalent to police sergeant or higher.
