To posses the capabilities to continue to perform in the future as a professional fire department serving the communities and meeting their required needs as situations arise. May they be of life safety, property conservation and general service as necessary. To remain conscious and adaptable to changes of growth and development in our community and society as a whole. All while promoting goodwill and educating those we serve to ensure the prevention and safety for all.

The Fire Prevention Bureau is responsible for providing inspection services to the village of Woodmere. These services include pre-construction site plan reviews, construction final inspections, existing commercial building inspections, automatic fire sprinkler plan review and testing, and fire alarm plan review and testing. Existing commercial buildings and businesses have become accustomed to seeing the Bureau staff in the role of fire safety inspectors on a biannual basis.

The Bureau also conducts investigations into all fires which occur within the City. Determining the origin and cause of a fire plays a prime role in preventing future incidents.
